Secure your account
Set up two-factor authentication at your first sign-in and reset a forgotten password.
Every QortexOS account is protected by a password and by two-factor authentication. Two-factor is not optional and it is not something you turn on later: the first time you sign in, QortexOS asks you to link an authenticator app before it lets you into the portal.
Go to the sign-in page. It is titled Sign in to your account, with the subtitle "Enter your email and password to continue". Enter your Email and Password and select Sign in.
If you have not verified your email address yet, you are told "Please verify your email before signing in." and offered a link to resend the verification email. See Create your account.
Set up two-factor authentication
You need an authenticator app on your phone or computer before you start. The instructions on screen name 1Password, Authy, and Google Authenticator as examples; any app that generates six-digit time-based codes works.
Start the setup. The screen reads Set up two-factor authentication: "Add a second layer of security to your account by linking an authenticator app." Select Get started.
Scan the QR code. The next screen is Scan this QR code. Open your authenticator app and scan it. If your app cannot scan, use the text under "Or enter this code manually:" and the Copy code button to paste the code in by hand. Select Continue.
Enter a code from your app. The screen reads Enter the code from your app: "Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows now." Type the code into Verification code and select Verify and enable. Codes rotate, so if one is rejected, wait for the next and try that. You then see Two-factor authentication enabled. Select Done.
Signing in after that
From then on, signing in has two parts. You enter your email and password, then a screen titled Two-factor authentication asks you to "Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app." Enter it in Verification code and select Verify.
If your codes are rejected repeatedly, the screen may tell you "Codes are out of sync - try the next code your authenticator displays." Authenticator codes are time-based, so this usually means the clock on your device has drifted.
Reset a forgotten password
Password resets start from the sign-in page, not from inside the portal.
Start the reset. Select Forgot your password? on the sign-in page.
Request the email. Enter your email address and select Send reset instructions. The confirmation reads "If an account exists for your email address, we've sent password reset instructions."
Open the link. Open the email and follow its link. The page is titled Reset your password: "Choose a new password for your account."
Choose a new password. Enter a New password, confirm it, and select Reset password. The same Password requirements checklist appears here as at sign-up.
You are told "Your password has been updated. You can now sign in." and can select Continue to sign in. If the reset link has expired or does not work, the page offers a link to request a new one.
Your email address and sign-in details
Each team member manages their own email address and sign-in credentials. An administrator editing someone's profile in User Management can change their name and phone number, and the sheet says so directly: "Email and sign-in credentials are managed by the member themselves."
That means nobody else can change your password or your two-factor setup on your behalf from inside the portal. If you have lost access to your authenticator app, reach out through the QortexOS contact page.
