Connect your data

Run Your First Sync

Choose the data sets on the Connector created panel, start the first run, and read what the screens show while it is in flight.

When the wizard finishes, it is replaced by a panel headed Connector created, with a badge reading either Connection tested or Saved as draft and the line "connector name is ready." This panel is where you pick the data and start the first run.

Choose the data to sync

The Data to sync section lists every data set the system offers, each as a checkbox with a short description. Its helper reads "Required data sets are locked. Optional ones can be turned off before the first sync."

  • Rows carrying a Required badge are locked on. They cannot be turned off.
  • Every other row is yours to choose. Turn off what you do not want pulled.
  • If the list does not load, the panel shows "Could not load the supported data sets." with a Retry button.

At present this picker appears only on this panel, so make your choices before you move on. The Save selection and Run first sync buttons appear only for team members with sync-management access; without it the checkboxes are read-only.

Start the run

Save the selection. Select Save selection. A confirmation line reads "Selection saved." A failure reads "Could not save the selection."

Start the sync. Select Run first sync. A dialog asks "Run the first sync now?" and explains "Runs a live data pull from the provider for connector name right away. Any unsaved data-set selection is saved first." Select Run sync to go ahead, or Cancel. The confirmation reads "First sync started." A failure reads "Could not start the sync." A sync uses the stored selection rather than what is on screen, which is why an unsaved change is saved first.

Go and watch it. Select Go to Connector Health at the foot of the panel. There is no progress bar, percentage, or finish time on the created panel; Connector Health is where a run is visible.

A QuickBooks Desktop connector has no Run first sync button. Its panel reads "Data arrives automatically once the QuickBooks Web Connector starts polling. There is no manual sync for this connector." See QuickBooks Desktop.

What you see straight after

On Connector Health, a brand-new connector reads like this:

ColumnWhat it shows on a brand new connector
StatusConfigured
Last syncNever, until the platform records a run
Next syncNot scheduled, while nothing is queued
EnabledYes, or No if you chose Save as draft

The run itself appears in the Event log panel with the time it started, the connector name, a record count, and a duration once one is recorded. The screen does not refresh itself, so reload it after a few minutes and check the run's entry there.

The four cards across the top of Connector Health do not fill in yet. Until your first syncs have been processed, they read Awaiting analytics data.

If the first sync does not land

  • Reload Connector Health and check the run's entry in the Event log.
  • Use Test on the connector's row to check the credentials without pulling data.
  • Use Force sync to start another run.
  • If runs keep failing, open the connector's details and use Replace credentials or Reconnect provider, described on Monitor connector health, or ask whoever manages your QortexOS setup to check the connection.

A connector you finished with Save as draft is created paused. Open Connector Health, find the row, and select Resume sync when you are ready for it to run.
