Glossary

The words below appear on QortexOS screens. Each definition describes what the term means where you meet it, nothing more.

as of - Screens that show a calculated figure state the date it was calculated. Connector Health, for example, labels its statistics "Connector health as of date". Read it as the age of the number, not the time you opened the screen.
Auto-refresh - A control some screens carry that re-reads the data on a set interval. It reads Auto-refresh when off and Auto-refresh on when running, with a Refresh interval setting beside it. When the figures on screen have aged, the control reads "Data is stale - refresh".
Business criticality - A label on the connector's details panel recording how important that system is to your operation. It is set by the platform, which treats every connector as Critical; it is not chosen during setup.
Change data capture - A way of syncing that streams incremental changes rather than re-reading everything. The platform sets it for you; it is off on every connector and does not appear as a choice during setup.
Connect account - The button on the Authentication step for systems you connect by approving access at the provider. It reads Connect provider, sends you to the provider to approve read access, and brings you back to finish the setup.
Connector - One configured connection between QortexOS and one of your systems. A connector holds the system, the details that identify your instance, the access you provided, and the data sets it pulls. Its name and schedule are set for you.
Connector Health - The screen listing your connectors with their health, status, uptime, errors, last sync, next sync, and whether they are enabled, plus controls to force a sync, test the connection, pause or resume syncing, replace or reconnect their access, and delete them.
CSAT - Customer satisfaction. One of the connector categories, covering the survey tools that collect feedback from your clients.
Draft connector - A connector saved with Save as draft rather than Activate connector. The screen explains it: "Saves the connector paused, without a connection test."
First sync - The first run of a newly created connector, started with Run first sync. Optional data sets can be turned off before it runs; required ones stay locked.
Identifiers - The second step of connector setup, headed Instance details. It asks for whatever points the connection at your instance of a system, such as a company domain, a server host, a tenant name, an account ID, or a region. Some systems ask for nothing here.
Invitation - The record created when you invite someone to your organization. It carries a status of Pending, Accepted, Expired, or Revoked. The invite panel states that "They receive an email with an acceptance link that is valid for 7 days."
Manage billing - The button on the Subscription screen that opens the billing portal. Plan changes, cancellation, invoices, and payment methods are handled there, not in QortexOS.
Multi-Tenant - The plan for running a portfolio of operations side by side, isolated from each other, under one organization. The number of tenants is chosen at sign-up.
Not available - What a screen shows in place of a value it does not hold. QortexOS shows this rather than a blank space or a zero, so a missing figure is never mistaken for a real one.
Organization - Your company as QortexOS holds it: the entity that signs up, carries the subscription, and contains your team. An organization holds one tenant or several.
Payment recovery status - A row on the Subscription screen, shown when a payment has failed and is being retried. It reads Retrying, Grace period, Retries exhausted, or Recovered.
Provider - The external product a connector talks to, such as ConnectWise Manage, QuickBooks Online, or Xero. You pick one on the first step of connector setup.
PSA - Professional services automation. One of the connector categories, covering the system your team runs tickets, time, and billing in. A connector's category shows as its Type in the filters and on the details panel of Connector Health.
QortexOS Pulse - The screen you land on after signing in, reached from Overview inside the Home section of the sidebar. Its sub-line reads "Your daily read on the health of the business."
RMM - Remote monitoring and management. One of the connector categories, covering the system that monitors and manages endpoints.
Role - What a team member is allowed to do. QortexOS has six, from narrowest to widest, each including everything the roles before it in this list can do: Viewer (read-only access to tenant data), Contributor (view and create or update data in assigned areas), Team Lead (team-level oversight and approval authority), Manager (department-level management and approval authority), Administrator (full administrative access to tenant), and Owner (tenant owner with full control).
Signal - The word QortexOS uses for one read on the business, such as cash position, profitability, revenue, capacity, or client health. Signals appear as signal cards on QortexOS Pulse.
Subscription status - The state of your subscription, shown as a pill on the Subscription screen. Values include Active, Trial, Past due, Paused, Cancelled, and Expired.
Sync - One run of a connector pulling data from its system. Runs appear in the Event log on Connector Health.
Sync frequency - The schedule stored on a connector, shown on its details panel. The platform sets it when the connector is created: daily, in UTC. It is not chosen during setup.
Team member - A person with an account in your organization. The User Management screen lists them under the heading Team members.
Tenant - An isolated set of data inside your organization. A single business has one. A Multi-Tenant subscription has several, one per client operation, kept separate from each other.
Two-factor authentication - A second step at sign-in: a six-digit code from an authenticator app, on top of your password. The setup screen names 1Password, Authy, and Google Authenticator as examples of apps you can use.
